- 3 cups pears fresh, peeled; diced or chopped
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking powder

- 2 1/3 tbsp butter melted
- 1/2 tsp ginger ground
- 1/2 tbsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup pecans chopped

- salt adjust to taste if needed
- powdered sugar for dusting, optional

Preheat the oven to 350°F then grease a baking pan with cooking spray.
Peel and chop pears and pecans into small pieces and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon ginger, and nutmeg.
In another bowl cream together butter and eggs until light and fluffy then add vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
Slowly add wet ingredients to dry ingredients mixing until everything is well combined.
Pour batter into a prepared baking pan and bake for 40-50 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool before dusting it with powdered sugar.
