- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- ⅔ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp almond extract
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 egg yolk fresh
- 1 tbsp water
- ¼ cup peanut finely chopped
- ¼ cup hazelnut finely chopped
Let's Begin!
Firstly, Preheat oven to 325°F.
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the butter and sugar. Beat on high until light and fluffy.
Then, Add the almond extract and salt.
Add ½ of the flour, and mix until just combined.
Add the remaining flour , and mix until the dough just holds together.
flatten the dough using a rolling pin, about ⅓ inch thick. Cut out the dough with cookie cutters of any preferred design.
In a small bowl, Mix together the egg yolk and water, set aside for brushing.
Next, place the cut out cookies in the prepared baking sheet, Brush with egg mixture, Then sprinkle with chopped peanuts and hazelnuts.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on the edges.
Cool completely, then remove from the baking sheet.
