Easy Homemade Apple Fritters

These easy and homemade baked apple fritters are a delicious, easy-to-make treat perfect for any time of year. These simple fritters are made with just a few ingredients and can be enjoyed hot or cold. Plus, they make the perfect snack or dessert!

Ingredients
  

Easy-to-find ingredients:

  • 3-4 cups apples diced
  • 1-2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or use any gluten-free flour
  • t tsp cinnamon ground
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch nutmeg
  • pinch ginger optional, ground
  • 1 tbsp sugar or unrefined sugar
  • 2 large eggs or use 1 tbsp of flax seed and stir them in 3 tbsp of water.
  • 3 oz milk or plant-based milk
  • 1 tbsp butter melted, feel free to use vegan butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Apple Fritters Glazed:

  • 8 oz sugar raw or unrefined
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 tsp milk or plant-based milk, or instead using milk use water

Instructions
 

Let's make!

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, place the diced apples, then add lemon juice.
  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder and season with cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and ginger.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well till the dough is formed.
  • Scoop the batter and wrap or fold the diced apples in the batter.
  • In a preheated oven, bake for at least 12–15 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown.
  • Allow cooling in a cooling rack. Set them aside.

Glazed with:

  • In a mixing bowl, mix the sugar, vanilla, and milk. If needed, add extra milk till you achieve the right consistency.
  • Over the cooled fritters, drizzle the glaze, and then let it dry.

Notes

Ingredients Note
  • If you are a vegan and love to bake, feel free to substitute the ingredients with your preferred plant-based ingredients.
Recipe Note
  • If you want to use the vegan substitute I have mentioned, you can.
Storing Tips 
  • Apple fritters are best served when freshly made. And if you have leftovers, cover them with a paper towel.
