Best of all, you can make these apple fritters with just a few simple ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen. But in this section, I will let you know the substitution of some of the ingredients for a healthy one.

  1. Eggs: Alternatively use 1 tbsp of flax seeds and stir them into 3 tbsp of water, or you may use aquafaba, mashed banana, or applesauce, or visit Short Girl Tall Order to know more about egg replacement.
  2. Sugar: Use a natural sweetener like raw or unrefined sugar.
  3. Butter: You may use homemade vegan butter if you have one, or a store-bought one. Make sure they are 100% non-dairy.
  4. Milk: Yes, there is plant-based milk available in the supermarket, also try cashew milk, oat milk, etc.

All you need is a little bit of patience while they cook. Here’s how to make your own apple fritters in no time!

 

For The Apple Fritters

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F and line a baking sheet.
  2. In a bowl, place the diced apples, then add lemon juice.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder and season with cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and ginger.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well till the dough is formed.
  6. Scoop the batter and wrap or fold the diced apples in the batter.
  7. In a preheated oven, bake for at least 12–15 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown.
  8. Allow cooling in a cooling rack. Set them aside.

 

For The Glaze

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix the sugar, vanilla, and milk. If needed, add extra milk till you achieve the right consistency.
  2. Over the cooled fritters, drizzle the glaze, and then let it dry.

  • 1-2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or use any gluten-free flour
  • t tsp cinnamon ground
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch nutmeg
  • pinch ginger optional, ground
  • 1 tbsp sugar or unrefined sugar
  • 2 large eggs or use 1 tbsp of flax seed and stir them in 3 tbsp of water.
  • 3 oz milk or plant-based milk
  • 1 tbsp butter melted, feel free to use vegan butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Apple Fritters Glazed:

  • 8 oz sugar raw or unrefined
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 tsp milk or plant-based milk, or instead using milk use water

Instructions

  • In a bowl, place the diced apples, then add lemon juice.
