This is the best Chocolate Strawberry Cake you’ll ever eat. Everything about the chocolate cake is wonderful, it’s moist and delicious in every way. My favorite chocolate buttercream icing is also layered thick on top. I’m not usually a great fan of frosting, but this one is fantastic. I was able to consume it by the spoonful, which I did. I sneaked inside the kitchen for a little sample of this cake.

To Make Chocolate Strawberry Cake

Prepare the wet ingredients mixture first. Begin by mixing together the eggs and sugar, as we do in practically every cake recipe. In a mixing bowl, combine the oil, milk, yogurt, vanilla extract. You may use coconut oil or olive oil instead of vegetable oil, and buttermilk instead of yogurt and milk.

Second, prepare the dry ingredients. Combine the flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate basin.

Combine the dry and wet ingredient mixtures: In two batches, pour the dry mixture into the wet mixture. With a hand whisk, stir just until everything is blended. Make sure you don’t over-mix.

Bake: Distribute the batter between two 6″ pans. Preheat the oven to 350°F for 30 minutes. Allow them to cool fully before making a lovely chocolate cake with strawberries.

Decadence at its finest!

Pro Tip!

The color of the batter is determined by the sort of cocoa powder you use. Some varieties of cocoa powder are so dark that merely one or two teaspoons can give you a lovely chocolate hue. So gradually add the flour and cocoa powder, and if you think it’s not brown enough, add a tablespoon or two more cocoa powder if needed.

Notes

If you don't think it's dark enough, add one or two teaspoons more cocoa powder.
This is the best chocolate cake recipe we've ever tried. If you are not going to add the ganache and strawberry layer in between, you may bake the dough in one round cake tin or a loaf tin instead of two tiny cake tins. If you want to make a one-layer chocolate cake, you may definitely drizzle the ganache over it.
