Ingredients: Tips and substitution!
Autumn leaf maple cookies are not just easy to make but also they are made with easy-to-find ingredients. If you are a baker or fond of baking they are probably in your kitchen.
The substitution I will let you know is optional but a great idea if you want to eat something much healthy. Below are the ingredients we needed and substitutions.
- Flour & baking powder: Use to make the dough I highly suggest using a measuring cup.
- Maple syrup & sugar: It adds a great flavor if doesn’t want it too sweet to measure them correctly.
- Butter: It helps to make a tender, fluffy texture to the dough.
- Eggs: This served as your leavening to make great dough.
- Vanilla extract: Don’t skip this as it enhances the flavor and gives aromatic flavor.
- Kosher salt: Season the dough to balance the sweetness of the cookies.
- Red & Orange coloring: Use to color the cookies to look eye-catching and festive cookies.
I think the ingredients you don’t have in your pantry are food coloring, no worries you can still make these cookies without it. If desired not to add them, just omit them. But of course, they will not look like festive cookies.
Oh, and just in case I missed it, you could use plant-based ingredients in place of the ones used in these pumpkin scones. This indicates that these scones can be turned vegan while doing so is optional. Here are the alternatives!
-
- Butter: You can use both homemade or storebought, just make sure they are dairy or non-dairy.
- Sugar: Alternatively use raw or organic sugar they are also available in the supermarket.
- Eggs: I highly recommend using 1 tbsp of flax seeds stir them into 3 tbsp of water.
- Food colorings: Use natural food colorings it’s either store-bought or homemade.
Please feel free to use a vegan substitute if you enjoy baking. Again, this is not required! If you’d rather, you can still retain the original ingredients!
